Team Building Exercise: A Creation of Little Lights
Team Building Exercise: A Creation of Little Lights
One of the biggest benefits of team building is being able to see the final product of what a team can do together that they would not have been able to do by themselves on an individual basis.
Many people resist the idea of team building at first. When they are able to actually see the benefits of team building, they often become the biggest supporters of team building.
To get people interested in the team building ‘spirit’, employing small projects can greatly enhance the learning experience. The following details a simple yet powerful strategy:
Supplies: 100 small led lights for each team, along with several sheets of cardboard to use as a display board for their finished creation.
Each group or team will split up the 100 led lights evenly amongst themselves. Any remainder will be put aside and not used by the group so that everyone has the same number of lights to work with separately. For example, if there are 5 people in a group, they would each get 20 lights to work with. However, if there are 7 people in each group, they would each get 14 lights and the remaining 2 lights would not be used.
Why are led lights being used in this exercise? That is a good question. By itself, a single led light is able to emit a small amount of colorful light that may not be able to stand out on its own from a distance because of its size.
However, if you get a collection of led lights together as one collective image, it becomes extremely difficult to overlook what their unity is able to create. Therefore, as a team, the goal of this teambuilding exercise is for the group to use all of their allotted lights to create a collective image and post it on the cardboard so that they can display it upon completion.
There are no restrictions on what the image can be or cannot be. However, it has to be something that was thought of and agreed upon by every member of the team.
Give your team : hope with Lights. My dad always said there was light at the end of tunnel. Use these light quotes to help build your team today.
