While many people are trying to enjoy the last moments of summer, there are others who are already gearing up for their favorite holiday, Halloween. It is the one night of the year where you can dress up like a superhero and no one will bat an eye, and it is also the best time of year to cut loose with an awesome theme party. You still have plenty of time to plan for your bash, so keep a few of these decorative accents in mind when you're preparing for your gathering.
1. Decorative lighting. Ambiance is the hallmark of any good Halloween party, so try to go for a mixture of low-level lighting and glowing accents. Use some rope lighting on the underside of tables in orange or red to create a creepy setting for your food table, and do the same underneath couches and chairs to add a touch of color to your venue. Candles are also a great choice for the occasion, but be sure to keep them out of the direct flow of traffic to avoid a fire hazard.
2. Easy to clean-up party supplies. Party tableware, personalized banners and party centerpieces are easy places to start when you're designing a serving table or any other point of interest. This will help ease the clean-up responsibilities of the host and ensure that your gathering has a unified theme. You can then use all sorts of Halloween favorites like fake cobwebs, small tombstones and small pumpkins on your table to create a wonderful mixture of holiday accents.
3. A photo area. Whether you have a large Halloween prop or a standee, taking pictures of all of your guests' creative costumes will allow you to capture the best moments from your get-together. This will open up your possibilities in the future to throw a scrapbooking party, or you can give your guests personalized party favors that feature their pictures. There's plenty of opportunities, so let your imagination run wild.
Halloween may seem like a long way off, but if you want to throw the best party of the season, you need to begin planning now! By incorporating a few of these Halloween party supplies, you can instantly transform your venue and show your friends who the best party planner in the group really is!
